This study analyses the effect of education and information on farmer’s willing to pay for agricultural revenue insurance. To measure the effect, we surveyed two different groups; the first group which was randomly selected is neither educated nor informed about the revenue insurance program, and the second group which participated in the 2013 tabletop exercise for the program is well educated and informed about revenue insurance. From the survey, we estimated farmer’s willingness to pay for revenue insurance compared with yield insurance using CVM(Contingent Valuation Method). The result shows that the willingness to pay of the second group is higher than that of the first group, implying that the education and information about the revenue insurance program make farmers be more likely to prefer and actively participate in the program.
