This study analyze the performances of 723 marketing organizations owned by farm cooperatives or corporations in Korea, and identifies the determinants of their performances. Applying stochastic DEA and FDH techniques to various combinations of inputs and outputs, the study selects an appropriate set of input and output indices carefully. Not only revenues but also achievements with some public values are incorporated as outputs. Distributions of the measured dfficiency scores are estimated, and the impacts of the characteristics of the organizations on the efficiency scores are analyzed with a Tobit estimation.
