Japan has implemented its production adjustment policy aimed at offsetting falling price of rice and declining incomes of farmers caused by the overproduction of rice since 1971. As the production adjustment policy has been expanded nationwide, it is worth reflecting on how much an impact the policy has on the income stability of Japanese farming industry in practice. Furthermore, the practice of Japanese production adjustment policy will be contributed to a strategic reference in this report to suggest the direction of Korea's production adjustment policy which is in its infancy and to explain the correlation with a set of rice farming management policies in order to change them.
