This study builds upon previous research to provide a more standard and objective means to asses an managerial ability of farmers. Using the expert advice of government officials and personnel combined with the objectivity of statistical analysis, 6 evaluation indices and 60 evaluation items have been chosen that provide practical framework to investigate current management practices. A questionnaire containing the evaluation indices and items was sent to selected rice and hog farms. It was found that rice farms showed higher marks (75.5 marks) than hog farms (73.1 marks), out of a 100 full mark scale. In terms of an evaluation index, hog farms had higher marks in the numerical value sense, and rice farms showed higher marks in information-gathering ability, planning ability, execution ability, and coping ability.
