| Abstract |
This study analyzes the impact of increased forage imports on Korean hanwoo farmers' forage cost volatility and managerial stability by estimating risk premium. The results indicate that the risk premium of Korean hanwoo beef farmers rises as forage imports increase, due to the liberalization of imported forage in South Korea, and the risk premium also increases as the risk-aversion coefficient increases or the price volatility in imported forage increases within the same scenario. The change in risk premium by breed type was higher for Hanwoo beef fattening farmers than for Hanwoo beef breeding farmers.
